UPDATE on Smoking Policy at ODU

Hello everyone,

To the contrary, if an ELS student, faculty or staff member smokes in their car, and that car is on ODU property, they are in violation to the ODU smoking policy.  ODU Public Safety has informed me that if someone is smoking in their car and their car is on ODU property, that they will respond. Violators of this policy are subject to student discipline as stated by ODU.

As a reminder, if you must smoke, you must do so off of the ODU campus.  Please use good judgment as students attendance and tardies are documented as well.  Being tardy to class due to smoking off campus is not an valid reason.
