I hope you are all excited about your new classes. We have a few announcements for clarifying attendance policies. These have always been ELS policy, and we are making them clear now.
If you miss too much class, you will receive a 0 for participation for that class. This is true for EXCUSED AND UNEXCUSED ABSENCES.
Number of absences (excused or unexcused) that will result in a 0 for participation by class type:
SSP: missing 6 or more hours (Each day is 2 hours of class, so missing 3 days = 6 hours)
RW: missing 5 or more hours
LTC: missing 5 or more hours
SEC: missing 4 or more hours
Don't forget! More than 10 minutes late = absent.
