Power Outage Procedures at LEAD

When it has been determined that the classes at LEAD must be evacuated due to a power outage, the following will be carried out:

Teachers will take their yellow folders and instruct all in their classroom to exit the room.  The teacher will be the last one that leaves and will ensure that the room is empty.  Once this has been done, the teacher will close the door signifying that no one is in the room.  In an orderly fashion, teachers and students will go to the “Great Room” located next to the parking lot and lobby.  DO NOT GO OUTSIDE!  The ELS administrator will make one final check to ensure that all classes are evacuated, nobody is outside and all are in the “Great Room”.  The restrooms will be checked as well.  Once in the “Great Room”, teachers will do an attendance check with the information found in their yellow folders and the ELS Administrator will have a hard copy of the enrollment listing to cross reference if a student is absent or unaccounted for.
