Honoring the September 11th Attacks

This Sunday is the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.  Not only did many people suffer on that day, much in the world has changed in response to these attacks.  People will be commemorating the attacks in different ways throughout the city.  Here are some of the ways you can help to honor those the world lost on that day.

Field of Honor:  The field at Dublin Coffman High School will be filled with flags to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks.  There will be 1 flag for each victim.  The site will be open 24 hours from Friday through Sunday for anyone you would like to visit and pay tribute to the fallen victims.

Muslims for Life Blood Campaign:  "To honor the victims of 9/11 on its 10th anniversary, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA has launched “Muslims for Life,” a nationwide campaign to collect 10,000 units of blood in the month of September 2011 and to reiterate the message that Islam values the sanctity of life. We will hold blood drives at all our mosques and prayer centers across the nation, and in collaboration with other community organizations."

In addition, there will be many different concerts, exhibits, and shows to mark the attacks.  Click here to see a list published in the Columbus Dispatch.
